A design project for KIT Theatre and artist Jessica-Roisin Nolan. Kit were commissioned by GMCA to work with autistic young people from Greater Manchester to create an Escape Room adventure aimed at Autistic people aged from 15-25.

We created a box that needed to be broken into, rather than a room to be broken out of. Staged as a box built to keep an alien communicator from the 1960s safe from human misuse. The cube unfolds as puzzles are solved, leading to what is hidden in the centre.

The Box toured between Greater Manchester’s special schools in 2021 with plans for future touring.
