In a year of adversity for arts and events industry, returning to Leeds Castle to create Christmas installations in 2020 was a hopeful, joyful act of resilience. We adapted and recreated the intended designs for 2020 to accommodate coronavirus restrictions - which meant that the public were allowed in the Castle grounds but not inside the castle itself.

Embrace the Unexpected was a trail of magical Christmas trees, winding through the woodland walk to be discovered by visitors. Each tree was inspired by a room in the castle, and playfully using materials relating to the stories and objects contained within the castle walls.

We also created The North Pole Post Office and Santa's Nook.

Design assistance by Caitlin Williams, carpentry by Joe Iredale.
